Plot Summary : Marion Steiner (Deneuve) and her husband Lucas (Poiret) run a theater in Paris during World War II. Lucas, a Jew, has gone into hiding in the theater's basement while Marion runs the theater. They're putting on a new production which Lucas is directing behind the scenes. Marion stars in the play along with a handsome young actor, Bernard Granger (Depardieu). The tension of caring for and hiding her husband and of the anti-Jewish sentiment is well-portrayed. Marion falls for Granger, a womanizer who becomes involved with the resistance.
