VIGNERON DEPARDIEU FEATURED IN FRENCH BON VIVANT MAG The September / October issue (No. 347) of the French lifestyle magazine GAULT MILLAU included a cover story (pages 8-22) on GD's winemaking operations at Chateau Tigné in the lush Loire Valley. An interview discussed the characteristics Gérard seeks in his product, comparisons of the wine to the man, and the mystery of the art. The article described and critiqued of all the wines produced at Chateau Tigné since 1989, including those currently available for purchase. The piece also featured conversations with GD's beau-frere and collaborator Patrick Bordier and winemaster Dominique Polleau.

GÉRARD AND CAROLE OFFICIATE AT WINE EVENT In mid-October, Gérard and Carole Bouquet were among the wine experts who presided over cask-tapping ceremonies at "grand cru" class vineyard Château Pape-Clément (owned by Bernhard Magrez) in Grave, Bordeaux. The vineyard's cuvée 2001 (which won't be available for sale until 2003) is special indeed. This batch marked the first time that a large vineyard employed a "grain à grain" method, hand-picking and hand-sorting each and every individual grape to create a distinctive designer wine. Gérard, whose own winery Chateau de Tigné produces 350,000 bottles per year, remarked that he and Carole became sponsors of the harvest because of its special significance. DEPARDIEU NOW FILMING NEW FRENCH SWASHBUCKLER "Blanche," a new 17th century costume drama swashbuckler by director Bernie Bonvoisin, is currently in production and will be filming in southwest France, Cévennes, and the Paris area until late November. (The cast was in Toulon in mid-October). The story: Mr. De Perrone, a rich ship owner who is cousin to Queen Anne of Austria, wishes to end his association with Cardinal Mazarin, whom he suspects of misdeeds. Retaliating, the Cardinal orders the murder of the de Perrone family. The only survivor of the bloody assassination is Blanche de Perrone. Revenge includes some cross-dressing by the heroine. The cast includes actress Lou Doillon in the title role, Jean Rochefort as Cardinal Mazarin, and Roschdy Zem as Blanche's love interest Bonange. Carole Bouquet portrays Anne of Austria and Gérard takes on the familiar role of a Musketeer - but one with a personality closer to D'Artagnan than his interpretation of Porthos in "The Man in the Iron Mask."
