9/16/00 BERENICE This 2000 TV movie (France) only recently appeared on the imdb filmography for Depardieu. It's a Depardieu/Bouquet project, instigated by Bouquet. It filmed in 24 days and premieres on French TV in September. You can read about it on the arte.tv site here (in French -- don't forget your Babblefish). This is an adaptation of a tragedy by Jean Racine. Depardieu plays Titus, whose true love for Berenice is thwarted when he learns that in order to reign he cannot marry her because she is not Roman. The review calls the Depardieu/Bouquet duo "magnificent". Perhaps we'll see it someday over here. <sigh> Thanks to Vicki for the link.
