6/24/01 NEW FILM: "PUSS IN BOOTS" The classic fairy tale "Puss in Boots" will be directed by Arthur Hiller as a combination live action/CGI film. There's to be an international cast and Depardieu is in talks for a role. Filming is to begin in April. Sounds fun! Here's the link. (from Vicki)
6/24/01 NEW FILM: "BLANCHE" Jean Rochefort (Count Morcef from The Count of Monte Cristo) is set to star in a new French action film Blanche. Rochefort plays 17th century French statesman, Cardinal Mazarin. The film is called a "genre-bending swashbuckler." Gérard Depardieu and Carole Bouquet will also appear in the film. Here's the link. 6/24/01 MIRAMAX TO DISTRUBUTE "ASTERIX" IN U.S. Miramax has acquired the rights to release Asterix and Obelix vs Caesar and Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra in the United States. 6/24/01 OEDIPUS DEPARDIEU This year the 2001 Epidarus Festival (a theater festival performed in Athens at the Ancient Theater of Epidarus) will close with two performances starring Gérard Depardieu and Isabella Rosselini.
