Trivia:
The movie was selected to open Cannes Film Festival 2000, a very prestigious slot and a good omen for the success of the film. The opening night event included the presence of Depardieu, Thurman, and the film's director, Roland Joffé. A sumptuous meal/party was arranged after the first screening in the style of the film's banquet.
Status:
The film had a brief and very limited US release. The good news is, the video and DVD are out! See the 'PURCHASE' link to the left for DVD/VHS details. The film is not out on video in the UK.
